What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government program that provides funding and support for people with a permanent and significant disability. The aim of the NDIS is to help individuals live more independently, build their skills, and participate fully in their communities.
How the NDIS Can Help You
If you're eligible for the NDIS, you can receive funding for supports that help you:
- Take care of everyday tasks like cooking, cleaning, or getting ready
- Learn new skills to become more independent
- Access your community and attend events or social activities
- Get support from therapists (like physios, speech therapists or psychologists)
- Travel to appointments or places in the community
- Make your home safer or easier to live in
Who Can Get NDIS Support?
You may be able to access the NDIS if you:
- Are under 65 years old
- Are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa
- Have a permanent disability that makes it hard to do everyday things without support
Your NDIS Plan – Your Choice: Every person in the NDIS has their own plan that is built around their goals and needs. You get to choose the services and providers you want to work with — and at SaharAbility, we’re here to support you every step of the way. We believe in empowering every ability, helping you make the most of your plan so you can live life your way.
